From Goodreads:
Lissa Dragomir is a Moroi princess: a mortal vampire with a rare gift for harnessing the earth's magic. She must be protected at all times from Strigoi; the fiercest vampires - the ones who never die. The powerful blend of human and vampire blood that flows through Rose Hathaway, Lissa's best friend, makes her a dhampir. Rose is dedicated to a dangerous life of protecting Lissa from the Strigoi, who are hell-bent on making Lissa one of them.
After two years of freedom, Rose and Lissa are caught and dragged back to St. Vladimir's Academy, a school for vampire royalty and their guardians-to-be, hidden in the deep forests of Montana. But inside the iron gates, life is even more fraught with danger... and the Strigoi are always close by.
Rose and Lissa must navigate their dangerous world, confront the temptations of forbidden love, and never once let their guard down, lest the evil undead make Lissa one of them forever...

My Review:
This book was my pick for a mini readathon my friend and I did. This was my pick for "A book from a genre you don't normally read" Since I haven't read a vampire book since Twilight this is what I chose.
Things I Liked:
1) Rose- I found her to be annoying in some parts of this book but I still really enjoyed her character and wanted to know more of her story.
2) Lissa- Great supporting character. Enough said :)
3) Dimitri- Oh my my. I am sure Im not suppose to like him but I so did. I think its because he's Russian so it was inevitable that I would.
4) I can see why so many people like this author. Her writing is sooo good and addicting.
Things I was not fond of:
1) I feel like at times this book kind of dragged and not much happened. I didn't really mind because the writing was so good which made me want to continue with the series. That is always a good sign.
My rating: ♥♥♥♥♥
